Who Needs This Permit
Carriers that regularly operate qualified vehicles across IRP member jurisdictions—including Missouri—should hold IRP apportioned plates and a cab card rather than buying temporary trip permits for every entry into MO.
New interstate fleets, carriers expanding routes into Missouri, and operators whose current base jurisdiction filings omit MO are strong candidates for IRP setup or amendment assistance.

Permit Details
The IRP is a reciprocity agreement among U.S. states (and Canadian provinces) that apportions registration fees based on miles traveled in each member jurisdiction. Once Missouri appears on your cab card, you generally do not need MO temporary trip permits for covered vehicles.
