Who Needs This Permit
You typically need a Utah trip permit if your power unit or combination is registered in another jurisdiction and you do not hold current IRP apportioned credentials that include Utah (UT). Common scenarios include first-time entry into Utah, occasional interstate moves, leasing situations where plates are not yet apportioned, or bridging coverage while permanent IRP plates are processed.
