Who Needs This Permit
Carriers that regularly operate qualified vehicles across IRP member jurisdictions—including California—should hold IRP apportioned plates and a cab card rather than buying temporary trip permits for every entry into CA.
New interstate fleets, carriers expanding routes into California, and operators whose current base jurisdiction filings omit CA are strong candidates for IRP setup or amendment assistance.
How to Get It
TruckPermits.online guides you through base jurisdiction selection (if needed), distance estimates, vehicle schedules, and supporting documents so your IRP application correctly includes California and other states you serve. We coordinate paperwork and track issuance of plates/cab cards; official IRP fees are paid to the base jurisdiction as invoiced.

Permit Details
The IRP is a reciprocity agreement among U.S. states (and Canadian provinces) that apportions registration fees based on miles traveled in each member jurisdiction. Once California appears on your cab card, you generally do not need CA temporary trip permits for covered vehicles.
