Who Needs This Permit
Most motor carriers operating vehicles subject to Oregon weight-mile tax (commonly heavier commercial vehicles on OR highways) must enroll with ODOT, display required credentials, and report miles by weight group. Certain light vehicles and exempt categories may not apply—verify before entry.
How to Get It
Share carrier identity, fleet weights, and prior Oregon account details if any. TruckPermits.online helps open or update your Oregon weight-mile account and explains reporting expectations.
Requirements
- USDOT / FEIN
- Vehicle declared weights and configurations
- Oregon account history (if renewing)
- Billing and filing contacts
Permit Details
Oregon does not rely solely on traditional fuel tax for heavy trucks the way many states do; weight-mile tax is central to highway funding compliance. IRP and IFTA alone do not satisfy Oregon weight-mile obligations for subject vehicles.
Our assistance fee covers enrollment support. Weight-mile tax calculated on Oregon miles remains payable to ODOT on the required schedule.
